INSTRUCTIONS:

• To get started, please select where in California you live, how many persons are in your household, and your household gross annual income, which will be used to populate the remainder of the calculator with initial values based on averages of households like yours.
• On each page of the calculator you may accept the default, average value or enter your specific data (either select the field and type in a number, or use the up and down arrows to increase the value to the appropriate number).
• After you have completed each page, please use the navigation at the top of the calculator (Intro, Transportation, Housing, Food, Goods & Services, Summary) to advance to the next page.

The Cool California Calculator is an evolving tool. In late summer 2008 we plan to release a new, more advanced calculator along with additional tools and links to help you reduce your GHG footprint. Your feedback on how the current calculator functions and what you would like to see in the next version is highly valued.
